Beth Alvarado is the author of ANTHROPOLOGIES, a memoir, from University of Iowa Press, 2011, as well as the short story collection, Not a Matter of Love, winner of the 2005 Many Voices Award from New Rivers Press, published in 2006. Her fiction and creative nonfiction have been published in several literary journals, most recently Ploughshares, Cue: A Journal of Prose Poetry, and spork. She teaches at the University of Arizona in Tucson where she earned her M.F.A. in fiction. She has begun work on a trilogy of novellas. She says, "Everything takes place in the desert."
